CLEM FERRIS

"A lasting impression from those years is the memory of the adult volunteers …"

As a boy, Clem Ferris participated in many of the activities offered by the Club, but the vast majority of his time was spent playing hockey at the skating rink. “I formed life-long friendships with families all over Berkshire County there,” he recalls. “A lasting impression from those years is the memory of the adult volunteers who spent countless hours at the rink to insure the success of the hockey, speed skating and figure skating programs. From 1973 to 1976, a high school team from Pittsfield reached the finals and played for the Massachusetts State Division II Championship. Every one of those kids got their start at the Club.”

Today, Clem is still involved in the hockey program, serving as the Club’s liaison to the Berkshire Bruins Youth Hockey program. He is also a member of the Board of Directors, working with the Property Management, Program and Camp committees.

“I serve because I want to assist the organization in achieving it’s many goals so that we can provide kids in our community with the same opportunities that I received from those who served before me – all of whom I have great respect for,” Clem said.

The Assistant Registrar of the Berkshire Probate and Family Court, Clem and his wife Martha are the parents of two children.
