Youth of the Year – 1999

At the club:

Mark began his club career at age five in the skating program and continued for nine years, playing hockey and refereeing. He also was an instructor in the Learn-to-Skate program and indoor soccer; was a member of the Senior Leaders Club and was a part-time staff member at Camp Russell. Mark was an honors graduate of St. Joseph High School, where he played football, lacrosse and hockey.

Now:

Mark graduated from Curry College and received a master’s degree from Simmons College. He is a teacher in West Boylston at Wayland Middle School in an emotional/behavioral classroom, using a program he helped create. Mark is also the head junior varsity hockey coach and varsity assistant. He volunteers in a Pop Warner football league and an environmental awareness program, organizing cleanups of rivers and ponds.
