“We believe in children and we respect their right to be themselves,” said Marilyn A. Ryan, Director of the Children’s Center at the Boys’ and Girls’ Club. “Supportive and non-judgmental, we give children multiple opportunities to succeed and feel good about themselves.”

 To Marilyn, the greatest benefit of the club for children in the community is its staff. “I am so proud of the fact that after all of these years, we continue to offer the highest quality education and care to the children and families we serve,” she said.

As Director of the Children’s Center, Marilyn supervises a staff of 14 and oversees all aspects of the education and care provided at the center. In addition, she ensures that it is in compliance with all licensing regulations through the state Department of Early Education and Care, and ensures that the center maintains its accreditation through NAEYC.  A graduate of Anna maria College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education, Marilyn is certified as a Lead Teacher and Director through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.

“I’m also proud of the loyalty we inspire in our families” Marilyn said. “Not only do we have teachers on staff who attended our center, but we also have past members who are bringing their own children to us now.”
